1. Promoter and status of the Promotion
1.1. The promoter is Surftech Surfaces Limited, company number 08466022, whose registered office is 11 The Oaks, Horringer, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP29 5SH (Surftech or the Promoter).
1.2. The Road To The Open consists of two free prize draws governed by these combined Rules: (a) the English Open Ticket Draw; and (b) the Main Voucher and Coaching Draw. No purchase is necessary and there is no charge to enter, other than an entrant’s ordinary internet or mobile-data costs.
1.3. Orangutan and other authorised personnel may administer the Promotion on Surftech’s behalf. Surftech remains the Promoter and is responsible for the Promotion.
2. Eligibility
2.1. Entry is open to individuals aged 18 or over who are resident in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands at the time of entry.
2.2. The following people may not enter: employees, officers or directors of Surftech, Orangutan, The Pickleball Shop, the coaching provider or any organisation materially involved in administering or supplying prizes for the Promotion; their immediate family members; and anyone professionally connected with the Promotion.
2.3. Entries from companies, syndicates, organised groups, agents, automated services, bulk-entry services or third parties are not permitted.
2.4. There is a maximum of one valid entry per person in the Ticket Draw and one valid entry per person in the Main Draw. A person may enter both draws. Duplicate entries will be removed, but an otherwise valid first entry will not be disqualified merely because a duplicate was submitted.
2.5. Surftech may require reasonable evidence of age, identity, residence and eligibility before awarding a prize. Only information reasonably necessary for verification will be requested.
3. Opening and closing dates
3.1. The Ticket Draw opens when the official ticket-draw post is first published on 5 August 2026 and closes at 23:59 BST on 7 August 2026. Entries received after the closing time will not be accepted. The draw will take place on 10 August 2026.
3.2. The Main Draw opens at 00:01 BST on 5 August 2026 and closes at 12:00 BST on 16 August 2026. Entries received after the closing time will not be accepted. The draw will take place after entries have closed and been validated, expected on 16 August 2026, with results confirmed no later than 18 August 2026.
3.3. Surftech is not responsible for entries delayed, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected or not received because of equipment failure, technical malfunction, network congestion or another event outside its reasonable control. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt.
4. How to enter
4.1 Ticket Draw
4.1.1. To enter the Ticket Draw, an eligible person must comment once on the official Ticket Draw post on the Proflex Instagram account (@proflex_sports) or the Playonproflex Facebook account, before the Ticket Draw closes. Any comment will be accepted as a valid entry other than a comment that is defamatory, offensive or otherwise contrary to these Rules, which will be removed and will not count as an entry.
4.1.2. Comments on other posts, private messages, shares, likes and tags do not constitute an entry unless the official Ticket Draw post expressly says otherwise. No entrant is required to share a post, tag another person or create publicity on Surftech’s behalf.
4.2 Main Draw
4.2.1. To enter the Main Draw, an eligible person must submit one complete entry by either: (a) completing the entry form at https://playonproflex.com/news-promotion/; or (b) scanning the QR code available at the Proflex/Surftech stand at the English Open, which links to the same online entry form, before the Main Draw closes.
4.2.2. The online and in-person routes are equivalent. Filming, appearing on camera, posting on social media, consenting to marketing, or making a purchase is not a condition of entry.
4.2.3. An entry must contain the information marked as mandatory and any genuine response requested by the form. Surftech may reject an entry that is incomplete, unintelligible, fraudulent, abusive or submitted contrary to these Rules.
5. Prizes
5.1. Ticket Draw prize: one winner will receive one pair of standard admission tickets to the 2026 English Open at the NEC Birmingham, valid for entry on any day of the event. Tickets will be provided as a QR code sent by email, to be scanned for admission, and are subject to the venue and event organiser’s admission conditions.
5.2. Main Draw prizes: four separate winners will receive one prize each, as follows:
- First prize: one voucher with a face value of £1,000 to spend with The Pickleball Shop.
- Second prize: one voucher with a face value of £500 to spend with The Pickleball Shop.
- Third prize: one one-hour coaching session with Mollie Knaggs at her usual coaching venue in Hertfordshire, on a mutually available date in accordance with clause 5.5.
- Fourth prize: one voucher with a face value of £250 to spend with The Pickleball Shop.
5.3. A person may win no more than one Main Draw prize. Each valid entry will be assigned a random number in accordance with clause 6.2, and the four entrants with the highest numbers will win the prizes in the order set out in clause 5.2 (first, second, third and fourth prize). Once selected as a winner, that entrant will be removed from the remaining Main Draw selections.
5.4. The vouchers are issued by UK Pickleball Shop Limited, whose registered office is 15 Kilnfield Cottages, Hollybush Lane, Orpington, England, BR6 7QW, trading as The Pickleball Shop, and are purchased at pickleball.co.uk. The vouchers hold a cash value and may be used for full or part payment for goods and delivery, and must be used within 90 days of issue. The vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, resold or replaced if lost after delivery. If an order exceeds the voucher value, the winner must pay the balance. No cash or credit will be given for unused value unless the voucher terms expressly permit it.
5.5. The coaching winner must book the session within 3 months of the prize being awarded, and the session must take place within 6 months of the prize being awarded. Once booked, the date cannot be changed and the session cannot be transferred, and no substitute session or provider will be offered if the winner cannot attend. The winner is responsible for travel, accommodation, equipment and personal suitability to participate.
5.6. Unless expressly stated, prizes do not include travel, accommodation, food, expenses, equipment or additional goods or services. There is no cash alternative. If circumstances outside Surftech’s reasonable control make a prize unavailable, Surftech may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, provided entrants and winners are not unfairly disadvantaged.
6. Winner selection
6.1. After each draw closes, entries from every applicable route will be combined, checked for eligibility and duplicates, and entered into the relevant draw.
6.2. Winners and reserve winners will be selected by a verifiably random computer process: all valid entries will be listed in order in a spreadsheet, and a random number will be generated against each entry using Microsoft Excel. The entries with the highest random numbers will be the winners, in the order set out in clause 5.2, with the next-highest numbers held as reserves. The draw will be supervised or independently verified by a person who is not involved in administering the Promotion. Surftech will retain an audit record of the valid entrant pool, exclusions, draw time, method, winners and reserves.
6.3. The Ticket Draw will select one winner and at least two reserve winners. The Main Draw will select four winners and at least four reserve winners in the prize order stated in clause 5.2.
6.4. Surftech’s decisions on eligibility and administration are final, acting reasonably and in accordance with these Rules. This does not affect an entrant’s legal rights or right to make a complaint to a relevant regulator.
7. Notification, acceptance and fulfilment
7.1. The Ticket Draw winner will be contacted by direct message or reply from the official account used for the promotion on 10 August 2026. The winner must respond within 24 hours because the prize is date-sensitive.
7.2. Main Draw winners will be contacted using the email address or telephone number supplied with their entry no later than 18 August 2026. Each Main Draw winner must respond within seven days.
7.3. Surftech will make reasonable efforts to contact a winner. If a winner does not respond within the applicable period, cannot be verified, is ineligible, rejects the prize or cannot accept it in accordance with its conditions, Surftech may withdraw the prize and offer it to the next reserve winner.
7.4. A person is not finally confirmed as a winner until Surftech has completed reasonable eligibility checks and confirmed the award in writing. Entrants should ignore messages from unofficial accounts and should never pay a fee or disclose bank details to claim a prize.
7.5. Subject to the winner providing information reasonably needed for fulfilment, prizes will ordinarily be delivered or arranged within 30 days of acceptance. Date-sensitive tickets will be supplied in sufficient time for the applicable event date.
8. Privacy and publicity
8.1. Surftech will use entrants’ personal information to administer the Promotion, verify eligibility, contact winners, fulfil prizes, prevent fraud, maintain the draw record and comply with legal or regulatory obligations. Further information is provided in Surftech’s promotion privacy notice at https://playonproflex.com/news-promotion/.
8.2. Surftech may share only the personal information reasonably necessary for administration or fulfilment with Orangutan, The Pickleball Shop, the coaching provider, event or ticket providers, professional advisers, technology suppliers and regulators. Each recipient must handle the information in accordance with applicable data-protection law and its role.
8.3. Entry is not conditional on consenting to direct marketing or publicity. Any marketing consent must be separate, optional and capable of being withdrawn. Declining marketing will not affect an entry or a prize.
8.4. No video entry is required. Surftech or Orangutan may separately invite entrants at the English Open to take part in optional filmed content; this is an add-on, requires a separate signed release, and Surftech will provide appropriate information and obtain any permission required for the intended use. Participation in filming or publicity is voluntary and is not a condition of entry or prize acceptance.
8.5. In accordance with the CAP Code, Surftech may make available a winner’s surname and county, and where applicable the winning entry, to anyone who requests those details within three months after the relevant closing date. A winner may object to publication or request a reduction in the information published by contacting Surftech using the details in Appendix 2. Surftech may nevertheless provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority or another regulator if required.
8.6. Surftech will retain the entry list, deduplication log, draw output, reserve list and fulfilment evidence until 31 December 2026. Data collected solely for the Promotion will not be added to a marketing list without separate valid consent.
9. Fairness, disqualification and changes
9.1. Surftech may reject or disqualify an entry where it reasonably believes there has been fraud, impersonation, automation, tampering, abuse, breach of these Rules or conduct likely to undermine the fair operation of the Promotion. Surftech will act proportionately and will not disqualify an entrant for a minor error where it can reasonably be corrected without affecting fairness.
9.2. Surftech may suspend, cancel or amend a draw only where exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary to preserve safety, legality, security or fairness. Any change will be proportionate, will not unfairly disadvantage entrants and will be communicated as soon as reasonably practicable through the Promotion page and, where appropriate, the relevant social account.
9.3. If a technical problem affects only one entry route, Surftech will take reasonable steps to restore it or provide an equivalent route and will consider a proportionate extension where needed to avoid unfairness.
10. Liability
10.1. Surftech is not responsible for loss or damage caused by events outside its reasonable control, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when an entrant accepted these Rules. Surftech does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10.2. Surftech is not responsible for a winner’s inability to use a prize because of the winner’s personal circumstances, failure to meet an admission, booking, health or eligibility requirement that was clearly disclosed, or failure to act within a stated deadline.
10.3. Nothing in these Rules affects an entrant’s statutory rights.
11. Social media
11.1. The Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Meta or any other social-media platform. Entrants provide their information to Surftech and not to those platforms, although platform operators may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
11.2. Entrants must comply with the applicable platform rules. Surftech will not ask entrants to create or publish unlawful, harmful or misleading content as a condition of entry.
12. General
12.1. By entering, an entrant agrees to these Rules. If promotional material conflicts with these Rules, these Rules will apply, except that a change clearly made and communicated in accordance with clause 9.2 will take effect from the stated time.
12.2. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
12.3. These Rules are governed by English law. Entrants resident in England or Wales may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. Entrants resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts where applicable.
12.4. Reasonable adjustments are available for entrants whose disability prevents use of a stated entry route. Contact info@surf-tech.net before the applicable closing time.
12.5. Questions or complaints should be sent to tim@orangutan.co.uk or by post to 63 Somerset Road, Redhill RH1 6ND. Surftech will investigate and respond within a reasonable time.
